I’ve been continually developing and working on a one-year self-education plan for myself since I was in middle school. Every six months I adjust it based on where I’m at and where the industry is going. This go-around, my goals are to pass the SQL Server MCM exams and set myself up for completing the requirements for VMware VCDX. I recently passed the VCAP5-DCD, and will take the VCAP5-DCA once it’s released. I’m zipping through the SQL Server developer pre-req exams. I take the MCITP Developer 2008 exam in a few weeks, and I feel pretty good about that one.
I’m knowingly least competent in SQL Server internals, so the best way for me to learn it is to work hard and then create blog posts. I figure if I can explain it, I should know it. So… I have two of the best internals books in front of me, and over the next six months I’m going to blitz away! Stay tuned for a lot of posts on SQL Server internals basics.
